Movie Review: Bitukang Manok

On the winding road of “Bitukang Manok”, Quezon Province, three groups of strangers find themselves isolated and trapped by mysterious forces. Here, surrounded by a menacing forest, they must confront their psychological demons as they spiral down deeper into their neuroses.

It’s not exactly a masterful button pusher, but the film maker has a clear goal in mind and he achieves it admirably. I would like to commend the sound design and cinematography of the film. Be warned: this can be a very distressing film to watch. I felt that I was also trapped inside the cinema watching the journeys of 3 groups of strangers isolated and trapped by mysterious forces. I just wish that the film will be given a different ending. As they already established the premise from the beginning and should be given a solid conclusion. Anyway we do have different perspective so let’s leave it to the audience on how they will interpret this film.

My Verdict:  3/5
