My Take On Upcoming Cinema One Originals 2013

Based from the trailer and plot of the film seems like these films are exciting to watch: Kabisera, Alamat Ni China Doll, Sitio, Bendor, Shift, Saturday Night Chills and Riddles of My Homecoming.

The films I think might have chance of crossing over to mainstream are Shift, Saturday Night Chills, Kabisera and Blue Bustamante.

Siyempre di pa rin mawawala ang kakaibang tema at style ng paggawa ng pelikula na kalahok sa Cinema One Originals na makikita sa mga pelikulang ito: Iskalawags, Bukas na Lang Sapagkat Gabi Na, Woman of the Ruins, at Ang Pagbabalat ng Ahas.

My Take on the Trailers

Woman of The Ruins – good casting and great actors are in the film at mukhang malalim din ang pelikula.

Kabisera – seems like a quality indie action flick and another masterpiece for Joel Torre with good support by Art Acuna. Lakas din maka OTJ ng film parang may similarities yung 2 film.

Alamat ni China Doll – interesting plot, great actors. Looking forward for the brilliant combination of Adolfo Alix and Lav Diaz on how can they collaborate in this film. Quite exited for the product of the film.

Sitio – from the trailer seems like na well capture ang mystery , psychological and suspense treatment of the film. Not the usual Mez De Guzman film very different from his past works.

Blue Bustamante – unique plot of the story and seems like a heartwarming movie for me at mukhang nakakatawa din. I am impressed with the set design background for the Japanese show na mukhang creative ang pagkakagawa at kakaiba din. Looking forward for the treatment as well of the film.

Bendor – from the trailer pa lang very well capture and buhay ng mga illegal vendor sa Quiapo. Looking forward for the treatment of the film at mukhang pinagisipan din ang camera angle sa pelikula. It seems that a great performance from Ms. Vivian Velez that I think has a big chance for Best Actress. Facial expression pa lang ang dami ng sinasabi at kinikwento ng mukha niya.

Islands – Unique plot and interesting story. Looking forward for the treatment and twist of the film. Na curious ako sa spaceship tapos may love story kung paano mag coconect iyon then why title of the film is Islands.

Saturday Night Chills – lead by mainstream actors but seems that they were given an offbeat role na di pa nila nagagawa sa acting career nila. Looking forward for the combination of mainstream and indie element in the film.

Angustia – a religious period film. Interesting plot. Of course I will watch this because of Alex Medina.

Riddles of My Homecoming – I am impressed with the trailer kasi ang gaganda ng mga shot. Kakaiba at ang lalalim. Each shot has a meaning.  So expected to be another master piece from the last year FAMAS best picture awardee Arnel Mardoquio. Another film that will showcase the culture of people living in faraway south in Mindanao that not usually tackles in the film.

Ang Pagbabalat ng Ahas – kakaiba yung texture at color ng film. Para siyang 80’s film pati yung style ng trailer very 80’s. This is also another alternative film that we can watch na gumamit ng kakaibang camera technology.

Bukas Na Lang Sapagkat Gabi Na – I am expecting for less dialogue here might be silent film not sure and film will more focus on the execution of the scene so an alternative film to watch on this festival.

Iskalawags – mukhang astig yung pelikula. Looks funny and entertaining film. Kaabang abang na non actors ang gumanap dito and they are children from Camotes Island.

Philippino Story – From the trailer mukhang touching and emotional yung film, I hope that this is not another gay love story falling in love to his boy toy.

Shift – I like Yeng Constantino, good thing for her that she accepts this film.  I like the songs feature in the trailer. Seems that the film will showcase an extra ordinary love story. Kinda heartwarming and kilig yung film. I think eto sa lahat ng entry yung medyo di malayo sa mainstream yung atake. I also appreciate the camera shot and technique of the film.

For Best Actor Cinema One:Plus great contender is Joel Torre for Cinema One: Currents could be Alex Medina, Felix Roco, Joem Bascon , Rayver Cruz, Mateo Guidecelli, Joseph Marco, Mark Gil or the children from Camotes Island

For Best Supporting Actors / Actress great chance for Channel Latorre and Art Acuňa or might be Junjun Quintana and Arnold Reyes or could be the veteran actors Cesar Montano and Philip Salvador

For Best Actress: Cinema One:Plus might be a tight fight between Alessandra De Rossi and Angelica Panganiban. For Cinema One:Currents great contender is Vivian Velez or might be Yeng Constantino and Mitch Smith.

For Best Picture might be Bendor, Riddles of My Homecoming or Alamat ni China Doll.

So we have a lot of choices for this coming Cinema One Originals with different genre from action suspense, psychological, drama,  period, youth - oriented love story and silent film. A lot of option with unpredictable twist and treatment as their tagline says “Anything can happen in a Cinema One Originals Movie”

Cinema One Originals Festival 2013 will be held in Glorietta, Robinsons Galleria, and Trinoma on November 11-19 2013!
