A story of a tailor and his struggles with his relationship with
his son as he grows up. "GAYAK" is a movie about a father's (Alan
Paule) unconditional love for his son (Sef Cadayona) and the son's journey
towards self-discovery set in the backdrop of one of the most unique practice
of Catholic devotion, the "Pagsa-San Juan" in Brgy. Bibiclat, Aliaga,
Nueva Ecija. The movie explores intimate relationships -- father to son, son to
father, brother to sister (Evelyn Vargas), between cousins (Richard Bradley),
and among members of a rural community within the context of faith, love and
hope.
So I can say that the movie has a good story to tell. The
treatment was very dramatic and slow paced that’s why its very hard for me to
not fall asleep inside the cinema. Acting wise no question Allan Paule delivers
Sef Cadeyona is ok, Richard Bradley needs more workshops. The movie does not affect
me at all.
